Te Kaha is a small New Zealand community situated in the Bay of Plenty near Opotiki. It has a population of about 375, approximately 70% of Māori descent. Corporal Bill Apiata who received the New Zealand Victoria Cross on 2 July 2007 comes from Te Kaha, as did Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu who received the VC posthumously in October 1943.
