Chummy MacGregor was Glenn Miller’s pianist from 1937-1942. Before his stint with Miller, MacGregor played with Irving Aaronson. He played in Glenn Miller’s first (unsuccessful) band in 1936. A noted songwriter and arranger, he wrote the song "Mister-Lucky-Me". His full name was John Chalmers MacGregor. He died in 1973.

He was involved in the movies Sun Valley Serenade (1941) and Orchestra Wives (1942), both of which featured Miller. He is never seen in both movies except for this small scene when Miller is playing "Chattanooga Choo Choo" (he is seen at the piano obviously). He is played by Harry Morgan in "The Glenn Miller Story" (1953/4).
