Cleanliness is Godliness - Mahatma Gandhi

It is said that if there is any place on the earth where the religious chantings are made in the same honor, style and manner as it used to be ten to fifteen thousand years back and where people from the dawn to dusk move and operate the with the same consciousness and thought process as was evident with their noble ancestors, the land is India, or the land of Perennial Philosophy, as once referred by the European philosophers.   The Republic of India, as it is known today is a sovereign country in the South Asia and as a country is the seventh largest by geography and second by virtue of population.

Though it has gained independence from the British hegemony after waging the struggle for independence for almost two centuries at a stretch its earliest history dates back to the period of the Indus Valley Civilization or even more, when the land of India was at the height of chivalry and known for its knowledge throughout the hemisphere. Through the noble Aryan civilization and the foreign expeditions of alien races resulting into a gracious confluence, there has been the creation of a civilization unparallel in stature and significance. All the four major world religions like the Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism late joined by the iconoclast and ecumenical religions like the Christianity, Judaism, Islam in the first millennium shaped the region's variegated culture to the greatest extent. However the gradual disunity and factional feuds among the feudal classes in general paved the advent of the foreign merchant classes from Europe, who exploiting the reigning situation expanded their gluttonous but potential tentacles and were gradually annexed by the British East India Company and then by Her Majesty's Government.   The colonized nation of India again was transformed into a modern nation state in 1947 by compelling the final silhouette of the British Imperialism to move.

India is at present is the twelfth largest economy by the virtue of exchange rates and the fourth largest in respect of purchasing power. With the initiation of the process of globalization and free market economy the country has made immense progress, specially in the sector of Information Technology where it has become a name to be reckoned with profound veneration.
