Influence of Black Money in Indian Economy
Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 1 UNI It is no secret that black money has been flowing out of India into Swiss banks and other tax havens. Prof R Vaidyanathan, professor of finance at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a visiting faculty at Manchester Business School, said. Randhir Singh resigns from SAI's Governing Body

RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 47.08 per USD
Mumbai, Aug 31 UNI The Reserve Bank of India RBI today fixed the reference rate for the US Dollar at Rs 47.08 surged by 24 paise from its previous rate of 46.84. While, the Euro slipped by 17 paise to Rs 59.50 per unit compared to its previous close of Rs 59.67 per unit, a RBI release said here. The exchange rates for Pound quoted higher at Rs 72.6350 72.7777 per Pound and Japanese Yen at Rs 55.96 55.13 per 100 units of Yen.
 
Haryana to procure power through banking
Chandigarh, Aug 31 UNI In order to ensure adequate power supply to consumers during the month of September, the Haryana Power Purchase Centre HPPC has made short term arrangements of procuring electricity through banking. Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam UHBVN said it had been decided to arrange 200 MW of power from NVVN, West Bengal and 100 MW from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board HPSEB daily.
